Tire pressure sensors are a relatively new concept that previously has only been available in higher end luxury vehicles. Tire pressure sensors work by alerting the driver when the air pressure in their tires becomes low. This allows the driver or vehicle owner to know when they should put air in their tires. This is a safety feature on vehicles so that drivers do not run the risk of having a blowout or a flat tire while they are driving. In addition, it lets drivers no, if there is too much air pressure in the tires, which can also be a safety risk. However, sometimes parts and features can malfunction or become defective. This can lead to accidents and injuries. Ford has recently been under investigation for having issues with many of the tire pressure sensors on some of the models of the vehicles that they sell. Ford is no stranger to auto manufacturer defects. Some of their defects were simple recalls that owners could easily have taken care of by going to their local Ford dealership. However, in the instances where there is Pressure Sensor Fault Ford, one of two things could be happening as a result. The gauge on the dashboard might not be giving a reading if the tire pressure is too low. On the other hand, the dashboard gauge might display a warning if the tires are properly inflated. For these reasons, this is easy to take care of by simply manually check the air pressure in the tires. However, some people may choose to not check their tire pressure on their own and just ignore it. However, this can lead to potentially serious problems later on down the road.
The Pressure Senor Fault Ford warning can occur for two reasons. The first reason is that there may be a loose wire. This is easily repairable by either having it replaced or adjusted. The other reason is that the sensor battery may have just stopped working. All the owner needs to do is take it in to their dealer and have the battery replaced. Recent cases of the faulty sensor have primarily occurred in the Ford Focus models. However, the Pressure Sensor Fault Ford also become defective in the Explorer, F150, and the Ford Taurus.
